Wedding Dress Trends for 2008
Here are hot wedding dress trends for 2008 based upon the fashions I've seen at the national bridal market:
- Sleeker closer to the body wedding dresses, bias cut, mermaid or soft A-line skirts
- Hip draped gowns
- Some color on wedding gowns, done either with colored Swarovski crystals or small splashes of fabric.
- Wedding dresses done in full unexpected color
- Ivories of all hues accented with soft golds or silver
- White or ivory dresses accented with a colored sash
- All lace gowns done in soft flowing styles. Some are all over hand beaded, others have just a touch of embellishment.
- Silk, satin and charmeuse fabrics, and taffeta returning, especially in ruched pick up skirt dresses. New fabrics like parchment taffeta are gaining in popularity.
- French bustles in the back of the gowns flowing into the train.
- Glamorous sexy gowns in the mermaid silhouette, hip drapes, lots of beads and crystals
- Sexy low backs on chiffon destination wedding dresses, perfect beach wedding dress!
- Larger selection of destination wedding dresses, more choices for the brides.
- Halter necklines.
